A CAD file is the design a manufacturer spent years on. The moment it is sent, control over it ends. That is the same problem as a medical record, in a different industry. Manufacturing is moving from shipping parts to sending the recipe. Print the part where it is needed, when it is needed. Freight is the small saving. The bigger one is the specialized parts built against a forecast that never sell. The technology is ready. 3D printing left prototyping years ago. Aerospace, turbines, medical and dental print production parts today, not samples. It has not happened, and not because printers cannot do it. An engineer who sends a CAD file has no way to control what happens to it next. One file, unlimited prints. So the choice stays: send the file, or ship the box. Most ship the box. Sovereign cloud costs 10–30% more than standard public cloud. Germany's Delos Cloud, built to keep government data out of reach of US authorities, prices at 10–20% above Microsoft's public cloud. That premium has a name in every vendor deck: the cost of sovereignty. It isn't. Sovereignty has no unit cost — jurisdiction is not a resource you consume. What's being priced is the workaround: isolated infrastructure, duplicated regions, vetted personnel. Gartner expects global sovereign cloud spend to reach $80B in 2026, up 35.6%. You're not paying for sovereignty. You're paying for the workaround. We build the other way around: residency conditions set by the customer, enforced before data is placed anywhere. Compliance by design, not by process.

Most storage answers the outage question with backups: a second data centre, a third, a failover plan. That is a fair answer to a hard problem. It is also an admission — the data is whole somewhere, and somewhere can go down. We built it differently. Your files are encrypted, split into pieces, and spread across independent nodes. A node going offline is not an incident, because the pieces are already elsewhere. There is no single place holding your data. That includes ours.

Migration complete: rewards and tiers are now accurate The node software migration concludes today - August 18th. Rewards and tiers on the dashboard are no longer provisional, and the scoring and reward calculations affected since February have been corrected. One thing we found along the way After the tier update went live, a small number of nodes were manipulating the benchmarking system to obtain scores their actual performance did not support. Those nodes lose their IAG rewards from the past year. Those rewards are not removed from the ecosystem. They go back into the storage node reward program, extending how long it runs for everyone operating honestly. For delegators Your delegation is not affected by this. Delegators are not penalised for a node operator's behaviour, and nothing you earned is being taken back. It is still worth checking the node you support. Where a node was found manipulating benchmarks, the dashboard shows it. If you would rather delegate elsewhere, the move delegation feature lets you switch to a node with a better tier at any time. Edge cases With a migration this size, some nodes will end up in situations these rules do not describe cleanly. If your results look wrong to you, tell us. We would rather look at your specific case than have you assume the number is final. Ask here or open a ticket on Discord, and we'll work through it with you.

Dashboard Performance, Rewards and Tiers Node performance data, rewards and tiers will be enabled in the Iagon dashboard on Monday, 3 August. Please be aware that the displayed rewards and tier assignments will initially be provisional and may change as network wide performance data becomes available. Iagon operates as a dynamic system in which these calculations depend on performance inputs from across the network. The required inputs will not be complete until all node operators have upgraded to the latest supported software. As more operators complete the upgrade, rewards and tiers may change between epochs. The performance measurement algorithms will also remain subject to adjustment if the collected network data shows that improvements are required. This means that both the displayed outcomes and the method used to measure performance may change during the rollout period. This is expected and should not be a cause for concern. The migration concludes on 18 August 2026.
