As promised, the Aura beta is out: https://aura.phantasma.info Aura is the new Phantasma wallet. The beta works on Android, Windows and Linux, and as an extension for Chrome and Firefox. iPhone, macOS and the app stores come later. Testing starts now. Anyone who wants to try it is welcome to. Please be careful while it is in beta. Download Aura only from aura.phantasma.info. Nobody from the team will ever ask for your recovery phrase.

We are moving public validator bonding from 1 October to Q1 2027. The validator is moving to Rust. The explorer made the same move in August. With public validators, other people will be running nodes, and that node has to be as stable and easy to run as possible. Bonding is part of the validator. Building it now means building it twice, so it arrives with the Rust validator. We also need to concentrate on Aura and give the new wallet line a smooth release. The wallets have needed a major update for a long time, and along with the explorer they are what people actually see of Phantasma. Shipping shortly: • Exact fee estimation. Your wallet shows the real fee before you sign, for the first time • PGL, all 7 SDKs, the frontends and the docs updated for gas model v2 • Phantasma Link v5 on every device, with the wallets and frontends to use it • The team page on the site: ‘who does what’

Mainnet validators are updated. Mainnet validators were updated twice in August, after months of security work. We tested the chain the way an attacker would. We went through every part of the node that reads data from outside, checked earlier conclusions against the source, and covered every finding with a test. The code that reads untrusted data is now tested continuously. Malformed and truncated input is generated automatically and fed to it, and every input has to end in a clear answer. Spam is no longer cheap. A transaction takes a place in the queue only if the account behind it holds what it offers, and a higher funded offer goes ahead of a lower one. Validators got faster too. Nodes talk to each other with less delay, and leader replacement got a round of polish, so a leader change completes quicker. Mainnet RPC is updated. RPC is what every wallet, explorer and exchange uses to read the chain and send transactions. Mainnet now runs the latest build. RPC performance improved a lot. Many kinds of request come back quicker, and large blocks are sent as they are read, so they no longer have to be assembled in memory first. Apps can ask for exactly what they need. Reading an account's name and staking data no longer returns its balances and full NFT list as well, and an app can read 100 accounts in a single call instead of one call per account. Values now arrive as proper JSON on the new routes, instead of text that every app had to unpack itself. Governance actions come back with their names and their arguments. Exact fee estimation is already built in. Once it is switched on and wallets add support, your wallet will show you the exact fee before you sign. Explorer goes Rust. The Phantasma explorer now runs on a new backend, written from scratch in Rust. It went live on mainnet on 28 August. The explorer is faster, and it stays fast when the network is busy. It also shows more information: NFT attributes and images now display correctly, data that used to look like raw text is now readable, token pages show token metadata, and every block shows the validator that produced it. Why Rust. It catches many kinds of bugs at compile time, before the program runs. It has no garbage collector, so the explorer does not pause under load. It handles many users at the same time safely, so one server can serve more people. We built it for a much bigger chain. Smart contracts and sidechains will create far more data, and the new backend was built to handle it. This is the first Phantasma service written in Rust. A Rust validator and a Rust RPC are next. Gas model v2 is live on mainnet starting from block 9075630. A transaction's fee is now based on the work it actually does and the storage it uses on-chain. Before (Gas v1) → after (Gas v2): • Smart contract execution: flat cost per instruction → priced by the real weight of each operation • Transaction envelope: free → billed • Script-based transfer: 0.0036 → 0.017 KCAL (5x increase) • Minimum fee: none → 0.001 KCAL • Storage refundable deposit: 0.00000002 → 0.002 SOUL per KB • Mempool: logic improved, highest funded offer served first Smart contract execution is priced properly for the first time. Until now every instruction cost the same no matter how much data it touched, so a large copy or a big-number multiplication was billed like a trivial one. Old Phantasma locked 1 staked SOUL per 40 KB. The new deposit is 12x less SOUL for the same data, and it is returned when the data is removed. Don't forget to migrate your frozen wallets as mentioned below: How to migrate your frozen wallets — step by step You'll make new empty wallets, then sign (inside Poltergeist Lite) a request to move everything from each old, frozen wallet to a new one. You send us the signed request and we apply it on-chain. The request stays valid for 10 days, so you sign only once. Open the migration portal: https://2019-2022-wallets.phantasma.info/ Step 1 — Make new empty wallets. In Poltergeist Lite (PGL), create one brand-new wallet for each old wallet you want to migrate. Each new wallet must be completely EMPTY: no tokens, no NFTs, no stake, no name, never used. This is where your funds will go — keep their seed phrases safe. Step 2 — Check your old wallets. On the portal, paste your old (frozen) addresses into the box at the top (one per line) and press Check wallets. The page shows which ones need migration. Step 3 — Set a new address for each. For every old wallet listed, paste one of your new empty addresses into its "To" field. Use each new address only once. The page checks that each one is really empty — if it isn't, the field turns red and you must replace it. Step 4 — Connect and sign, ONE wallet at a time: Make sure Link v4 is selected, then: 1. Open your 1st old wallet in Poltergeist Lite. 2. On the portal press Connect wallet → approve in Poltergeist Lite. 3. Press Sign → approve in Poltergeist Lite. 4. The wallet disconnects by itself. Now open your 2nd old wallet in Poltergeist Lite and repeat steps 2–3. 5. Keep going until every row says "signed" and "Remaining to sign" reaches 0. Step 5 — Copy and send. When all are signed, the "Copy migration request" button turns active. Press it (the request is copied), then paste it to us in a Telegram DM to @damatnaena. That's it. We never ask for your seed phrase or private key — signing happens entirely inside Poltergeist Lite and only proves you control the wallet.
