As work continues on Sentinel's migration to Solana, different approaches are being developed to ensure $P2P holders can migrate securely. One approach uses a phased burn-and-mint process, where $P2P is burned on the existing Sentinel chain and the corresponding tokens are minted on Solana. The process would be carefully phased to ensure the existing Proof-of-Stake network continues to function correctly as the amount of liquid $P2P remaining on the Sentinel chain approaches zero. Another approach uses a Merkle tree-based claim coordinated with the eventual halting of the Sentinel chain. A provable snapshot of $P2P ownership could then allow holders to claim their corresponding $P2P on Solana without requiring tokens to be individually burned first. Both approaches are being considered with the same priority: making the transition to Solana secure, verifiable, and effectively managed for $P2P holders. The migration will be carefully coordinated, with timelines, key milestones, and any actions required from holders communicated clearly and well in advance. The current state of the market is very weak with most major tokens at a net loss since their highs in 2021. The institutional interest and involvement has never been higher and for the first time retail stock traders have been given a funnel to enter the market through the Robin Hood blockchain. At this point in time the view on the weakness of the Cosmos ecosystem is shared by 99% of people and there is very little left to debate after even NYM announced its plans to consider a transition. Sentinel's goal is to migrate well before the end of this year in preparation for the upcoming bull cycle where Bitcoin ETH and SOL will create new all-time-high prices. There is years of pent-up pressure, there is no logical reason on why crypto is lower today than it was years ago while the amount of real-world impact has 100x'd since. At this point in time the world's largest asset managers and corporations are using blockchains for settlements and debt issuance. Get ready for the next bull market from Oct/Nov.

An important consideration is gas costs as well given the amount of transactions that Sentinel's DHT model commits on-chain everyday. In the last 30 days alone there were 9 million transactions. This is an ecosystem that 'has been there done that'. A successful migration from Ethereum into Cosmos was conducted in 2021 and now Sentinel's 2nd and last migration will be successfully conducted in 2026. Sentinel has proven its ability to provide infrastructure for millions of users and nearly a dozen dVPN applications that are reaching a total of 2 million users. It is now time to go to the ecosystem where there is the highest degree of mind-share, where apps focused on improving UX of trading and wallet usage are worth more than the entire Cosmos foundation as a whole (including treasury).

Imagine the ability for anyone on Solana to host a dVPN node within a minute. The infrastructure is ready, the protocol is being re-written. The goal is to make the statement, 'Imagine the ability for anyone on Solana to create their own dVPN app within an hour'. Sentinel contributors are some of the most provably accomplished Cosmos developers having won the GOZ competition (and ranking highly in the GOS competition) against teams such as Terra. Sentinel has been building on Cosmos for 8 years now and has released a significant amount of custom modules at the consensus level which requirements a tremendous amount of intricate effort pre-AI. Now Sentinel is in the process of restructuring and rewriting the dVPN protocol into Rust without compromising on the decentralization of the on-chain DHT. Sentinel has to ensure that dVPN apps can be connected to and built from scratch with just a chain RPC alone.

Sentinel is trying to do what no one in the world has done. Giving anyone in the world the ability to host a node and placing this node in multi-million dollar apps serving hundreds of thousands of users a day. Test.sentinel.co and other testing infrastructure developed by community members provides VPN companies with more insight into the performance of a particular node. Sentinel's key focus is on economic structures given that the ecosystem has proven its ability to handle a large userbase reaching over 200k unique users last month. With protocol proving scale, the focus is now on monetization. VPN companies need to understand the specs of a node (CPU/RAM) as well as its max possible bandwidth in order to accurately understand the max # of users a node can handle at a specific minimum bandwidth speed.
